Thanks to donations from Kingsland family members and others with ties to the Manor, we have a treasure trove of documents, photographs, and newspaper clippings that represent important events in the history of the Manor and its occupants. Many of these are on display and can be seen when you visit. An index lists the items that are in a historical documents folder. Newspaper clippings are in the newspaper articles folder. (While there may be some inaccuracies in news articles, they are an excellentl source of historical information and provide insight into different eras.)

In 1941, the Federal government conducted a Historical American Buildings Survey of Kingsland Manor. The result was a collection of descriptions, drawings, and photographs of the Manor, which at the time retained most of its 1700s and 1800s character. By twenty years later, the final private owners had begun to drastically alter most of the rooms. When the Historic Restoration Trust took over, it relied heavily on the HABS documentation to restore the Manor to an historically accurate state. Two online folders contain digitized copies of the HABS drawings and HABS photographs.

In 2018, the Kingsland Manor Board was contacted by Kaitlyn Kingsland, a graduate student at the University of South Florida, who offered to create an interactive virtual model of Kingsland Manor on the USF website. She visited the Manor in January of 2019 and took many photographs that she used to create a 3D model of the outside of the Manor. By using a mouse to grab the image, the user can turn the house around and see it from all angles. We invite you to use the link above to visit the USF website and give it a try!
